The mission of TUCS is to actively encourage formation of new multi- and interdisciplinary strategic centres for forstering new academic excellence, coordinate international innovative large-scale M.Sc. and Ph.D. education, and to act as a catalyst for joint research between the participating research units and for the interaction with the society.
All TUCS graduate students have the possibility to apply for the MBA Programme for doctoral students offered jointly by the University of Turku – Turku School of Economics and TUCS. All Master's level students are offered the benefits of the NMS iICT Innovation Cluster by the Baltic Sea. Internationality, Innovation and Entrepreneurship are parts of this network program.
TUCS was founded in 1994 by University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University and Turku School of Economics. TUCS startup involved being a Centre of Excellence of the Academy of Finland. TUCS is also the first Finnish Graduate School.
