Abstract:

This paper presents analysis, design and simulation of rectangular planar Microstrip antenna with parasitic element on the radiating and non-radiating edge. Multi-frequency operation in the proposed antenna is achieved by the parasitic elements by controlling the parasitic element’s length and the gap with the patch. Simulation results indicate that the proposed antenna demonstrates very good
impedance match at the Multi resonant frequencies. The use of multiple parasitic elements (resonators) is to tune slightly different frequencies along the non-radiating and radiating edges of an antenna. By changing the resonator length and spacing between the patch and the resonator input impedance of antenna can be controlled. One can also place the resonator along the radiating edges or even along all
four edges. The focus of the present paper is on the design, and simulation of multiband antenna using inset-fed technique. Using Parasitic elements antenna can resonate under different frequency. Three resonant frequencies of proposed antenna are 5.01GHz, 8.77GHz and 9.42GHz with good return loss. This antenna is implemented on GML of 0.762mm thick and having relative dielectric constant εr = 3.2 and the area of the 50.8x50.8 mm2. The measured results in terms of Return Loss and radiation pattern are given.
