Patent Evaluation with a Numerical Real Option Method
Mikael Collan, Robert Fullér, József Mezei, Xiaolu Wang, Patent Evaluation with a Numerical Real Option Method. In: Mark Zhou (Ed.), 2nd International Conference on Management Science and Engineering, Advances in Artificial Intelligence 1, 685–690, Information Engineering Research Institute, 2011.
Abstract:
Numerical analysis for supporting patenting decisions is a difficult topic due to uncertainty and inaccuracy in estimating connected future cash-flows accurately. We present how the fuzzy pay-off method for real option valuation can be used to support patent evaluation and decision-making. We illustrate with a numerical two-phase case.
