Signature Ensembles for Signature-Interleaved DS CDMA

Alexey Dudkov, Signature Ensembles for Signature-Interleaved DS CDMA. In: Proceedings of the Signal Processing for Wireless Communications Workshop (SPWC 2007), 2007.

Abstract:

Multipath propagation can significantly impair performance of DS CDMA due to presence of the odd correlations of user signatures caused by delayed replicas of the transmitted signal. System performance can be improved by using signatureinterleaved (SI) DS CDMA, for which single user correlator output contains only correlations of either non-shifted at all or just one-chip-shifted signatures. At the same time SI DS CDMA requires number of signatures per one user no smaller than maximal multipath delay in number of chips. In the article demands for signature ensembles for SI DS CDMA are considered and various methods of signature ensemble construction are obtained.
