Abstract:

Information technology (IT)-based services can be classified as professional services, so they have to be designed and developed accordingly. We discuss on the importance and benefits of the packaging IT services in the IT consulting business. The main focus is on the modeling the packaging of IT services process and highlighting its critical phases. An approach of the packaging IT services can be used in existing professional IT services for designing and developing IT service products, which will have accurately defined features and implementation processes. Such service products can be more easily and productively sold, delivered and distributed internally as well as externally to various stakeholders. The main contributions of this paper are both model for the design and development process of IT consulting services, and the identification of crucial phases in the process.
