Abstract:

We propose a framework for the evaluation of visual data-mining tools, which is needed both for users and developers of such tools. In our approach, the quality of the visualization is seen as the quality of the communication between people and the system. This requires to take into consideration and to analyze aspects like: information, human knowledge, visualization and usability in order to identify possible problems of design as well as problems of the information content of the visualization.
