Abstract:

This article careful explores how Nokia steered the Maemo open-source platform in a hybrid corporate scenario. By pointing the lenses at organizational developments (2007-2010) both at Nokia R\&D division and at the Maemo open-source community, the author investigated the motivations of the multinational organization to embrace open-source and consequent organizational conflicts between the newly open-source division and other established corporate units.
