Abstract:

Transformation from traditional VLSI education to Embedded Computing education will be presented. A curriculum that empowers the next generation of engineers to confront the future challenges is presented. The aim of the transformation is to raise the abstraction level such that students learn skills that will bear fruit long after they have been in industry. In addition to the actual core engineering courses, the transformation also include more activity between disciplines during the studies. All the changes have made the embedded electronics education more attractive for the students.
