Abstract:
Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) is receiving increased interest in portable power applications as a clean, efficient energy. Current collector’s structure is very important part in fuel cell design. In this article, a new type of current collector is used instead of the ordinary flow field and metal collectors. Three different kinds of current collectors were tested. The first two current collectors were stainless steel sheet meshes with different thicknesses; the third was the same as the thinner mesh but as gold plated. The testing result showed the gold plated mesh had the best performance, followed by the thinner steel mesh and lastly the thicker steel mesh. All the testing results and discussion are shown in the following article.
