Assisting Accountants in Developing Financial Statements

Abstract:

The development of financial statements is often a difficult and time consuming task, especially for less experienced accountants. We have built a knowledge-based system to aid in developing the financial statements for corporate firms. The usability of the system for different categories of accountants has been tested. We describe the system and the test conducted. The results of the test show that the system is of considerable help for accountants.
