On probabilistic fuzzy numbers

Abstract:

In many applications there can be important to consider quasi fuzzy numbers, which determine probabilistic distributions as well as possibilistic ones. We will call these kind of quasi fuzzy numbers as probabilistic fuzzy numbers. In this paper we determine all the probabilistic fuzzy numbers by providing the explicit equations, which are the necessary and sufficient conditions for a fuzzy number to be probabilistic one. As an application of our results we determine explicitly all the probabilistic fuzzy numbers having trapezoidal form.
