Abstract:
The Network On DEpendable Systems (NODES) aims at establishing strong connections among several research groups in the Nordic countries, in order to advance the field of dependability. This subject is quite important in the Nordic region: on one hand, computer-based systems are ubiquitous in the society and, hence, need to be asserted as dependable by specialists; on the other hand, due to various reasons, the number of such specialists is small in the area. One means for alleviating this situation is the organization of various events for experience exchange.
The NOrdic workshop on DEpendability and Security (NODES 07) was the first event in the planned series of NODES. This workshop was held in Oslo, Norway, on October 9, 2007. It aimed at providing a forum for researchers interested in different aspects of dependability and security to exchange ideas and current research results. A doctoral symposium session was also included in the workshop to provide doctoral students with the opportunity to present and discuss their ongoing work.
We have accepted 13 abstracts for the workshop session presentations and 5 abstracts for the doctoral symposium session. The workshop abstracts are grouped into two broad themes: (I) modeling dependable middleware and networks and (II) security and trust.
