Space-Time Codes from Groups
Jarkko Hiltunen, Jyrki Lahtonen, Anu Nikkanen, Space-Time Codes from Groups. TUCS Technical Reports 513, Turku Centre for Computer Science, 2003.
Abstract:
The basic principle of diversity in the wireless communication is to provide multiple copies of information for a receiver, which can select or combine the received informations to obtain the best
quality for reception. Diversity is commonly introduced in either the space, time, or frequency domain.

Space-time coding is a method in which the diversity is introduced in both the time and space domains by utilizing multiple transmit antennas. The data transmitted from multiple antennas is also spread in time supplying the receiver with a sum of the transmitted signals passed over independent fading channels.

In this report we consider the design of space-time block codes for $2$ and $4$ transmit antennas which are based on the theory of group. Especially we use the representations of the groups to
design space-time codes with full diversity.
