Integrated Program Generation System for a PC-board Assembly Line

Mika Johnsson, Timo Leipälä, Teuvo Pulliainen, Olli Nevalainen, Integrated Program Generation System for a PC-board Assembly Line. TUCS Technical Reports 52, Turku Centre for Computer Science, 1996.

Abstract:

We discuss the implementation issues of the automated robot code generation in PC-board component assembly. To design a system with a practical value, the integration to the other parts of the production system should be considered carefully. Several technical details make the code generation system complex. Some of them can be included in the optimization model directly, whereas approximations are necessary for others. The program generation system has been successfully installed in daily production environment.
