Abstract:

Abstract

A significant market for mobile services has emerged during past ten years. Together, with service providers and mobile operators there are hundreds of companies and players in the mobile service market. On the other hand, mobile service market has attracted a lot of attention and interest among mobile operators, mobile device manufactures and mobile content providers.
The advanced and development of mobile handsets, mobile networks and software has continuously opened new market opportunities. All of all, it seems there is no stop for new opportunities and new innovations.
In contrary, many of these new innovations and mobile services have failed to generate revenue as the expectation set in early days of mobile service market by mobile device manufactures, mobile operators and mobile content providers.
It is fair to state that the main reason of this failure is clearly because; the mobile service adoption ratio and the actual use in many different mobile service categories are slower than it is expected.
This study combined quantitative and qualitative data gathered from several countries to explore the potential mobile services in a number of different countries around the world. The report focuses mainly on successful mobile services and their business models. Country’s data are mostly taken from the research report conducted by
Netsize , Idean and Informa Telecoms & Media , therefore, this report is written according to that information.
