When to apply in the Doctoral Network in Information Technologies and Mathematics

The application period will begin on 1.5.2014 and the deadline for applications is 26.6.2014 at 16.00.

Funding period and salary

The new positions may start at the earliest on October 1, 2014. The maximum funding period is four years (48 months). In case you have already started your doctoral studies, you should indicate in your application and research plan how far your work has progressed, and how many months you and your supervisor expect are still needed until your studies are completed.

The university offers a salary dependent on qualifications and work experience. The salary will be based on levels 1–4 of the job demand level for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee shall be paid a salary component based on personal work performance. See the salary chart for teaching and research staff.

A trial period applies to new employees.

Criteria for employment

The right to pursue a doctoral degree and /or funded doctoral training position is/are applied for through the current call. The applicant must be registered as a doctoral student at Åbo Akademi University before the start of the employment. Decisions for granting eligibility for doctoral studies and for financed employment are made by the head of department. The doctoral students will be placed at Department in Information Technologies or at Department of Mathematics of Åbo Akademi University. The progress of the doctoral studies will be evaluated annually.
